Sense of Place

I have been working on research projects that involves the concept of sense of place for several years now. Of particular interest to me is future cites or probably more familiar what has become to be known as "edge cites". Therefore, I am curious if ther are other geographers or cross-disciplinarians that are intrested in such. Here is a primer:

Hi, I am currently reading The New Geography by Joel Kotkin. This book is very insightful and very relevant. Kotkin focuses on how the 'digital revolution' is affecting the urban landscape. He also compares the current American urban landscape to Renaissance Europe and also backdrops a chapter or two against Valhallan ideas... A riviting book worth the read!!
It is only about 200 pages. Kotkin puts his current observations against a historical context wonderfully. As an aside, I was hooked very quickly to the read, I share very similar views on the subject.
Anyhow, I think that this book may be very useful in formulating your ideas or elaborating on them.

Reading the reviews it looks like an interesting read. I will have to pick up a copy. You should compare his ideas to what earlier generations wrote about cities and technology. Browse some Lewis Mumford. I think you will find it interesting.
