I used to do photogrammetry (the old light table method) but have gotten out of it. I am familiar with ERDAS Imagine but that is about it. I also used to belong to a group called The American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) and there is a wealth or articles on hyperspectral imaging in their journal. You can also find career leads and info about the industry at places like www.geocomm.com/ and www.directionsmag.com/

If you are looking for a school - I heard the University of Wisconsin's Geography Department has one of the top programs in this speciality.
